i will be returning to CO friday, look what is in story for us!
Today a weak shortwave ridge aloft builds over the region and we can expect some small orographic snow showers in the morning then partly cloudy conditions and increasing wind this afternoon. Major changes occur on Thursday afternoon and into the weekend. A large closed low pressure system stationed off the California coast will begin to eject eastward feeding moisture into a warm southwest flow that will likely deliver a significant amount of snow to our area through the weekend. We'll keep our fingers crossed for this one as it looks like it will favor the San Juan mountains, but could deliver a sizeable dumping to the Crested Butte area as well.
